Are presented numerous XXth-century picture books (rare Japanese children's books from the 1920s-50s and a fine collection of picture books from the 70s, specifically those published by Shiko-sha and adapted in France by Les Editions du Cerf, collection La Rivière Enchantée), movable and pop-up books, books from the 70s illustrated with origami, children's photobooks with lenticular images, old kamishibai (paper theaters), some with movable pieces, and an important collection of a hundred of original drawings by Japanese illustrators and mangaka (Masao Kubo, Tsunao Harada, Ken Mizusawa, Ryo Kurashina, Jiro Takidaira, Eisuke Ishida, Yoshitaka Terao, etc.).
As a Side Exhibition are also visible numerous original drawings by illustrators less directly meant for children — artistic, satirical, comical or erotic (Hideo Takeda, Uno Akira, Masayuki Miyata, Hidezou Kondou, Mimi Ishii, Kon Shimizu, etc.) — as well as an important selection of works of the versatile and prolific artist Tadanori Yokoo (poster books, EPs and LPs, anthologies) and many others.
